The most common device used for connection in the HV neutral is the Liquid Neutral Earthing Resistor (LNER's). These are relatively inexpensive, sturdy and can easily be constructed to carry earth fault currents of the order of up to 2700A and 33kV. They are designed to carry the fault current up to 30 seconds.

Also with the tank being made of Stainless Steel this requires less maintenance.

With companies using Liquid Neutral Earthing Resistors (LNER's) converting to other forms can often be expensive, and the purchase of a new Liquid Neutral Earth Resistor would be the most cost effective option.
