The Acra-Batt (Battery and
Battery Charger)
The Acra-Batt is a new range of battery and battery
charger available with DC output voltages ranging from 24v to
110v and DC output current available up to 400A. This range has
been designed to meet and expand various applications for a
compact single charger, distribution and cell cabinet dependant
on substation load and application.
The Battery and
Battery Charger comes with many options as standard, but also
has a complete customisation programme to meet the most
demanding requirements.
Indication
As standard it is fitted
with a Multifunction Digital Alarm Unit which has a built in LCD
alarms and LED indications allowing for extremely easy use and
monitoring. However if requested chargers can instead be fitted
with analogue indication and metering equipment.
Charger
The Acra-Batt Battery
and Battery Charger comprises of a thyristor controls constant
voltage types having IU characteristics at full rated output.
The Battery Chargers are fully rated to supply both the standing
load and future load whilst floating charging the battery and
having a short term overload capability of 110%.
Batteries
The batteries would normally comprise of valve regulated
sealed lead acid gas recombination cells to BS 6290 with a
minimum designed working life of 10 years at an ambient
operating temperature range between 5 degrees and 25 degrees
(other cell types and arrangements are available on request).

Distribution
The distribution section comprises of sets of 20A, 32A, 63A
DC Fuses and Link Output circuits or alternatively MCB’s. The
fuses are of the HRC cartridge type and are in accordance with
BS 88. MCB’s are in accordance with BS EN 60898/ BS EN 60947-2.
